KACE - Dealing with COVID-19

Hi

Looking for a solution to provide KACE 10.1.99, to users and IT staff within our organisation (local council) without using VDI licences, to enable them to work from home.

Considerations are:

  • ease of set up
  • usability
  • security

Does anyone have any ideas?  Staff of 1100, potential worst case scenario (conservative) of up to 500 users working from home.  Currently have 150 VDI licences.

  • Option of making KACE available via web browser, enabling SSL. Interested if other organisations have made KACE SMA available this way - sonjan 4 years ago

can you please be more specific?
Do you want to enable the users to work from home with KACE? - make it public facing (depending on your environment it may be just a click in the firewall and a short script for the users)

If you are talking about allowing your users to access your SMA from home, then you can make it available outside of your firewall. Our appliance has been public facing since it was setup and with the exception of one time there have been zero issues.
