License error deploying AutoDesk Inventor Series 8
I'm making my first attempt at deploying Autodesk Inventor Series 8, and have run into a couple of problems. I'm using the instructions here After installing, it prompts me to authorize the software. I have to go through a registration process on Autodesk's website, and it generates a unique registration number for each installation. Is there a way to incorporate that information into the install, or is there a better way to do this? Here's what I used to install it:
msiexec /i "\\gator\AppInstall\AutoDesk\Inventor8\Disk1\bin\acadfeui\Inventor\inventor.msi" ADSK_SILENT_LICENSE=YES ALLOWDRAWINGEDIT=1 CONTENTLIBRARYEDIT=1 DRAWINGSTANDARD=ANSI INSTALLLEVEL=5 SERIALPREFIX=XXX SERIALSUFFIX=XXXXXXXXXXX LICENSETYPE=STANDALONE UNITS=INCH /qr
Also, it put Application Data in the All Users directory in Documents and Settings, but put Start Menu icons only in the directory of the user that ran the scripted install. Do I need to manually copy those, or is there a way around this? TIA for the help. I'm using Altiris Deployment Server to deploy the software.
