Making msp files using AdminStudio
Hi
I have some problems making a patch for a program called TiPS FM.
I'm using AdminStudio6 and tried to create a QuickPatch Project with no luck.
In the QuickPatch Project I want to upgrade only one exe-file. I right click the
"Files to Patch" option choose patch existing file find the exe-file and pick the new file from it's location on the server.
The saving and compiling seem to work fine, but when I try to use the patch in my installation it fails with a Windows Installer warning, saying it's not a valid upgrade package or something....
Anyone else seen this ?
For the moment I have to upgrade the exe-file using the ipf-script that push the installation of the program to the users.
But it's not the best solution, if the user are to make a repair of the software in ADD/Remove Programs the old exe-file will be installed :-(
If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
thanks
