Mekko Graphics
Hi -
I am trying to create a package for Mekko Graphics but I only have a .exe from them. Does anyone have any experience with this product and if so how did you decide to package it?
Also are silent switches unique to each vendor and their application?
I currently use Wise Desktop Studio for packaging and Desktop central for deployment. Works very well in case anyone is interested.

The thing to try with most packages is to get to the first screen of the installation, normally a 'Welcome' screen. At that stage, look in the %TEMP% or %APPDATA% folder for an MSI. If you find an MSI, copy it somewhere, renaming as you copy so that you have a sensible name. You can then create a transform for that MSI, containing all the changes required for an installation in your environment.
are silent switches unique to each vendor and their application? Not normally. There are relatively few package-creation tools around and packages created with them will, generally speaking, use the same command line arguments. Note though that the different tools may not necessarily use the same arguments. That is to say, an InstallShield-authored package (that isn't an MSI) will use a different set of arguments to one authored with, say, InnoSetup.
Wise Desktop StudioDo you mean Wise Package Studio?
