Microsoft Windows Media Player 10
Hi All -- First post...
Found the Microsoft article 278960 to turn off automatic updating. It works TOO well. It not only keeps Media Player from being updated, but also keeps it from adding/updating codecs. That I would like to keep!
Thanks,
Jim

How do you want the codecs added? By the user, or will they be packaged? Do your users only have user level security, or do you elevate them to Power User or Admin?
Turning off the auto update gives the admin full responsibility for updating, including codecs. (Many prefer it that way, prohibits the ability of users to install undesired codecs) That way you can package codecs and insert them as desired.
