Ms Chart Control
Hi All,
I have a product MSchart Control which needs to be installed on winodows 2008 r2 server.
Earlier when i installed manually it got installed and uninstalled properly. Later when i am trying to install the product it is not getting installed properly. I mean product is not appearing in the ARP and also registry is also not getting properly installed.
It has a dependancy "Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 sp1". Since the 2008 R2 server build comes defaultly with the above dependancy i did not installed it again.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

Thank you for replies.
The regisrtry entries are not properly updated. I mean all the entries are not getting populated, only some entries are coming in the Registry.
Also please rememberEarlier it has shown up in the ARP and registry however on successive installations and reinstallations this issue began to crop up. Now it is a constant issue.

In that case, I'd say that it isn't uninstalling properly. There's a simple way to test that:
- Start up a clean instance of your server in a VM
- Using a lightweight snapshot tool e.g. InstallWatch take a 'Before' snapshot
- Install the control
- Uninstall the control using ARP
- Take an 'After' snapshot
- Examine the result for relevant data left behind.

One, IIRC, WinZip is already an MSI (albeit one which is extracted from an EXE) - see the 'Package KB' for details, two, I *hope* you mean you captured on a clean build machine and not a "non clean build machine" and three, please don't hijack threads, even your own.
