msi error message
This is my problem, I hope I am in the right place. I have a programmer who sent me a new install for a program we were developing. When installing the program I get the following error "Error writing to file: CRVsPackageLib.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory"
I have installed this program (versions for testing) without error before. The only change this last time was to correct a report query.
I know this have something to do with Crystal Reports. The stated file is not on my computer at all. It seems like it is not included in the install or some settings are wrong. The only reason I am asking is because the programmer will be unavailable for 3 days.

Hi clbarcode,
I'd use filemon and try and figure out what its doing at that particular point.
OR you can continue packaging the installation, find out which merge module that .dll belongs to and add it into your package, but I wouldn't trust an installation that gives you errors personally, I'd get the developer to fix that problem.
Hope that helps
Paul
Edit: Just reread this, and you are getting this error message from running a .msi file? If thats the case then create a log file and have a look at what is going on - you should also get an error code that might help.
