MSI Folder permissions problem

Hi,

I've authored an MSI of Scientific Word 5.0. The MSI installs fine through GPO when it is processed on a machine's first boot . However if the GPO is applied to an existing windows installation the installer gets so far and then dies with an 1317 error "Error 1317. An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\sw50\Help\General"

Having a look at the directory permissions after the attempted install reveals that there are no permissions on the c:\sw50 directory - nothing for administrators, nothing for system, nothing for Users

I'm sure i came across an article somewhere on the web a few months back that explained what was causing this behaviour and how to fix it but of course i failed to bookmark it at the time and now can't find it (:

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Alan./

It looks like the GPO is taking away everybody's permissions. Change the GPO to set the permissions as desired on these folders.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
