No IE9 Icons after Installation via SCCM

Hello all,

i have folowing issue:

We deploy IE9 on Windows via SCCM. The Package was created with IEAK and the deployment and installation works fine.

My issue is that a User without a profil has no IE Icon on Desktop etc.

We have to create the link manually and that is uncool.

Sorry for my bad english and i hope you unterstand my problem and can help me.

Thanks

Stefan

I'd make a sizeable bet that the icon *is* there, but it's on the local System user's Desktop (which I *believe* will still be 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop' but, under W7 is probably "ghosted")

I've not played with IE9 yet so couldn't say how best to work around the issue but, if all else fails, it wou;dn't be too hard to build a user-level package to add the special Desktop icon referred to in that MS KB article.

Hi Stefan, i have done it on XP with no problems but i see that you are using Windows 7.  Have a look here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945402, it seems to be addressing your problem
