OpenText/Hummingbird Exceed 14
Anyone know the silent switch for HumSettings.exe? The MSI is visible when the active setup runs and I'd like to hide it.

They already add that to the command line, but its not working. Its a problem with the HumSettings.exe that launches msiexec.exe. I was hoping someone had found a fix or work around.
StubPath = C:\Program Files\Hummingbird\Connectivity\14.00\Accessories\HumSettings.exe INSTALL=ALL NoFreeWhenWOW64=1 LOGGINGLEVEL=5 /qn
Right I have just done Exceed 14
The clues are all there, what I did was open up a dos window and dragged Humsettings.exe
ie <path>Humsettings.exe /? - this will give you the switches you need
StubPath = C:\Program Files\Hummingbird\Connectivity\14.00\Accessories\HumSettings.exe INSTALL=ALL UILEVEL=NONE NoFreeWhenWOW64=1 LOGGINGLEVEL=5
job done and no more headache pills [:D]
if this solves your issue then please feel free to rate this piece of information

I've tried:
"command"
/s
/q
/s v"qn"
/v"qn"
/SILENT
/quiet
and a variety of combinations of the above.
I also tried modifying the peruser settings.ini and still no go.
I even tried setting up a FREE account to post on the OpenText forums (absolutely horrible btw), but although their Privacy Policy indicates they do not share personal info with 3rd party, you can visibly see EVERYONE's e-mail address on each and every post with no option to hide.
I'm not going to bother calling their support line...

I'd assumed that you were executing MSIExec as part of AS, as I imagine most people would. As you have learnt, it pays to spell out exactly what you're doing as early in the thread as possible, to avoid wasting time.
In your shoes, I'd determine what exactly HumSettings.EXE does after extracting the MSI and running it and simply duplicate its action(s) in a transform.

In this case, its a problem specific to the product. I didn't go into too much detail because I was hoping somebody would have come across the same problem.
I think I have already wasted enough time working on this problem so I will let the client decide if the MSI running visible is an issue and then go from there. Problem is, I haven't had much success running it manually.
