Packaging and sequencing WinZip 15?

Hi,

I'm sequencing and packaging Winzip 15.

I need to supress auto updates,

I changed HEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nico Mak Computing\WinZip\UpdateCheck set two string values (REG_SZ):

  • AutoMode – set to “0″
  • NoUpdateChecking – set to “1″
But still when I install the application it shows updates has ben checked 19 days agao and do you want to check updates option at first launch.

In options miscellionious it shows updates has been disabled.
I don't want that popup to display again

Pleadse help me what need s to be done other than changing those 2 values.
Do i need to remove the same registry from HKCU or anything else

Thanks in advance.

  • You will have to add these keys in HKCU - jagadeish 11 years ago
  • so there is no need to change in hklm, so i'll leave these values same as it is and I'll chnge only under HKCU. is that enough? I want the total updates feature to be disabled. No more popup regarding to update.

If I change under HKCU, will that take care of everything?

Here in the below link it shows to change in HKLM. I'm totally confused please help me?

  • Why dont you check it manually first.. - jagadeish 11 years ago
  • If this is the case then do one thing.. keep those registry keys in both HKLM and HKCU hives with the same value.. these things you can check manually by changing the value in the registry directly.. you dont have to put it in your mst and check right.. - jagadeish 11 years ago
