Have you lokoed at http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=162?
I would suggest putting some more information in your questions, as in you have tried repackaging and have encountered the following problems, log files could be handy, anything really.
Hope I've helped somewhat.

The step by step instructions do not exist yet, the purpose of this site is to get all of us colaborating to develop solutions. We can't always just feed answers to you. I myself am still working on creating a transform for this, but I have still had no luck. I have moved on due to my work load, but when i revisit it, I will be sure to let you know if I find a solution.

I packaged palm I ran the palm dekstop it unloads two temp msi's in c:\currentUser\local settings\temp I extracted those two msi's one is isscript8.msi and the other is palm desktop.msi I deployed them using /qn as my switch and they both install silent and throw the icons on the desktop and in the programs menu. When my users click on the palm desktop icon it ask them for there user name and they proceed from there to create a new palm user profile

A note for future reference. This method does NOT work for GPO deployment.

Sorry to bring back an old discussion, but I'm having trouble getting this to work using the instructions above. I'm deploying this with Altiris Deployment server, and tried to following two methods:
1) msiexec /i "\\gator\AppInstall\PalmDesktop4\ISScript8.Msi" /qn
msiexec /i "\\gator\AppInstall\PalmDesktop4\Palm Desktop.msi" /qn
2) "\\gator\AppInstall\PalmDesktop4\setup.exe" /s /v"/QB- ALLUSER=1"
In both cases, I see Product: ISScript -- Installation operation completed successfully. and Product: Palm Desktop -- Installation operation completed successfully in the registry of the client, and then a subsquent:
Windows cannot unload your registry file. If you have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator.
It appears the program is installed, but no desktop icon or any reference to palm at all appears in documents and settings...
Any ideas? Has anyone deployed this with Altiris Deployment server or in a similar method without having to re-package the MSIs? I want them to be available to all users of the machine, and the users are not administrators (but the account installing the software is).
TIA!

Hey-
Just trying to start some activity here again...but has anyone done this successfully with Altiris Deployment Server? According to the post by hayabusa above, this shouldn't require any repacking, just executing two MSIs. I do that, but it doesn't quite work. Any help would be appreciated.
TIA!

I have the exact same issue as you ctjohnson (using Altiris as well). I install it from an account with administrator privs and it works for that account and that account only. Any other account cannot even see the shortcuts on the desktop or uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs. I'm going to try to customize the MSI as others have done but with 4.1.4E I think it may be a little more difficult.
I had created a custom MSI package with Altiris years ago for an older version of the software (v4.x) and it worked just fine. This newer one is quite horrible. If I cannot get it working I'll just stick to the older version + Chapura to sync Outlook... but I was hoping to get this going so that I can use the Documents to Go software that comes with the Tungsten E2's...
Any help would be appreciated!
