Palm Desktop error
Hi,
Does anyone know about this error " Add user error -- Could not add user " test" . test is an illegal user name , or the user directory could not be created. Test is the user name trying to create.. just for the test purpose... Application compile fine no error.. Any suggestion...
Things i have done so far
As long as those keys are under HKCU a per-machine installations of the package will be very complicated and will not work on every system.
Capture the installation (installed “ISScript.msi†before the capturing) and open the .WSI – file in the Wise Installer Editor.
Mark the HKCU – root of the Snapshot on the “Registry – Page†and export it to a .REG – File.
Open the .REG – File with “Notepadâ€Â. Replace the string “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\†with “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\â€Â, so all Classes are where they belong.
Replace the string “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\†-> vendor with “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\â€Â, so that the application config is available to “All Usersâ€Â.
After you’ve done that, delete the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\†– Folder in the captured installation and import the customized .REG – File.
Wise should tell you that it found advertising information in the .REG – File. You can decide whether Wise shall write this information in the corresponding Tables (Class, AppID …).

Hi!
I might remember wrong, but I think that the setup.exe for Palm Desktop did unzip a MSI-file into the %temp%-dir.
Maybe that file will help you?

yes, i did install some files in %temp% dir of the profile folder....while capturing the package , deleted all the temp files.... at the end installation capture .. it comes with error... wise is encountered problems... & at scan window it stops at HKEY_CURRENT_USER ?? any idea ..... why
