Patching Acrobat Professional 10.1.0
Extract the original .exe file into a directory. I also downloaded the 10.1 patch AcrobatUpd1010.msp
Created an admin install point + patched to 10.1 via this command:
msiexec /a acropro.msi /p acrobatupd1010.msp
That created the install point in a directory I specified. I then used the Adobe Customization Wizard to put in our settings. The result is a 1.2 gig file.
Now that 10.1.1 is released I have downloaded the quarterly update AcrobatUpd1011.msp
How do I just push out the 110 meg update?
I have tried to just run: msiexec /update AcrobatUpd1011.msp but the log file comes back saying product not found. Adobe 10.1 is installed and the GUID matches. I verified by looking in the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall area.
I'll attach the log file below.
I'd rather not go through what I did above but use the 10.1.1 msp file and push out another 1.2 gig update. :(
Thanks for any assistance.

With Acrobat X, Adobe went with cumulative MSP files. The quarterly updates are supposed to be applied to 10.0.0. The out of cycle patches are intended to be applied on top of the previous quarterly.
10.1.0 and 10.1.1 are both quarterly patches, so you cannot apply one on top of the other. Unfortunately, this means if you have patched already, you will have to then remove the previous patch and apply the new patch.
I believe if you get updates through some other patching mechanism like Adobe's updater, the SCCM update catalog, Kace K1000, or other similar product, you won't be affected by this issue, its just when you try to apply the patch yourself.
