Permissions...

Hi guys...

I need to install a couple of files (.INFs) to the "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files"...The folder is secure...Despite my setting permissions in Wise to Everyone and selecting all the options, it won't let me install the files to the said directory?

Any of you out there know how to overcome this?

You can't install files there. The "folder" is another Windows 'ghost' folder and is built from the codestore held in the registry.

You can copy the files but you will not be able to view them in explorer, instead you can view them with the cmd "dir /a".

But what about websites? They can install their files there so why can't we? I can install files there when I am logged in as admin...Problem arises because I have to package it for standard users and that's where permission issues come into play...If I can do it as admin surely, I can do it as a standard user...

The Installation Gatekeeper we use uses our digital signature to allow packaging and installing for standard users...

Any other way?
