Problem with nested installation
Hi,
I am facing a problem while upgrading a previous version.
I have a previous version in which there is a call to another MSI during Install using CA "INSTALL MSI from Relative Path" and another CA"INSTALL MSI from Relative Path with proerty REMOVE="ALL" " for unstallation.
When I install my new version ,it start removing previous version and gives error that "A network error occured while reading a file from C:\windows\Installer\Promonet.Msi". and also pressing Ok it continues installing.
When i tried to rename cached copy with name "promonet.msi" it upgrades correctly.
Can anyone give suggestion or reason why it is doing that way ?
Thanks
Mayur

If you use the product GUID instead of the relative path for uninstalling the nested MSI this should resolve the issue. However, you will find this problem you've discovered coming up again if your installed application needs to self heal. It appears to be a limitation of nested installs.
