Problems in packaging Japanese application
Dear all,
I'm working as the software packaging analyst for ExxonMobil (located in KL). I'm supposed to package Japanese apps (to fit in WindowsXP) for the AP region. The thing was I face several difficulties during packaging the applications. I was hoping to get some help or advise on how to rectify or correct those problems. Several problems that I have were:
1) My shortcut is NOT showing the correct Japanese characters (it's showing garbage character after MSI installation).
2) All INI sections that is written in Japanese characters are missing!!!
3) All desctination folders that is in Japanese characters are missing!!!
4) From the above problems, I can't run the app perfectly.
All of these problems happen only after I installed the MSI that I have built using English InstallShield. I've tried to use the Japanese InstallShield X Premier Evaluation, but yet to find a solution for these issues.
I'm using WindowsXP SP1, MUI language (Japanese) and English InstallShield AdminStudio to do the repackaging. I was hoping that I could use the Japanese InstallShield X Premier Evaluation edition to solve the issues, but I can't.
Please help me on this matters. I do appreciate your help.
Helmi
