Problems with Shortcuts and Add/Remove Information
I have had this issue with multiple packages I create and get from other people sometimes and I just cant put my finger on whats up. I have used Installshield and Wise Package studio and have had similiar problems. I create a package through a snapshot, everything gets created fine, output the msi and push it through altiris. Once the package is done all the files and registry information is fine but Shortcuts and add/Remove Programs info arent there like it was never installed.
I have checked the components and changed it all to Complete, I have tried putting ALLUSERS=1, I just dont see whats up. The weird thing is that if I install it manually, everything works fine. I have looked in the installsequence and I cant put my finger on any differences. Could it be altiris? Any ideas?

Check the System user's profile. I'll bet you'll find the shortcuts there. Tricker to look for the ARP entries, as you can't really log in as System but I'd bet the same applies.
Long and short is, in spite of your use of ALLUSERS, you're probably installing per-user whereas you should be installing per-machine. Enable verbose logging and examine where the profile folder is being resolved.

I am going to check now but the actual shortcut is being placed in ALLUSERS desktop. Would this also effect the add/remove?
EDIT:
Ding Ding Ding!!
I see the shortcuts in the altiris desktop and the "C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop"
How can i remedy this problem? Is it something with the package or the install method?
