Project 2007 Pro OCT Issue (yes I've googled)
Greetings,
Hopefully this is the correct forum.
I successfully created a MS Visio 2007 silent install (following the tips found here)
I am duplication my steps to create a MS Project 2007 Pro silent install but the OCT will not even create a MSP
Here are my steps
1. Launched setup.exe /admin
2. Office Customization Tool launches
3. Box comes up asking to select a product. In this case is pre-populated and stated "Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007" and this is selected.
- No over product is listed.
4. I click on OK
5. A pop up message comes up stating "Loading selected product data"
6. Another pop up box comes up and states "Failed to get available product info."
I have googled up and down google and found nothing helping.
I started with a fresh copy of install files, per the only helfpul thread I found and the error is still present
I have downloaded a new set of OCT templates and copied them and the error is still present
To ensure I am doing the correct steps I created another set of Vision silent install package and works perfectly.
What could be the issue that I am having? All folders/files seem to be there.
Hopefully this is the correct forum.

I have run into this before but, as usual, don't remember exactly what I did to get around it. I did find this article: http://www.techtalkz.com/microsoft-office/121486-office-2007-error-failed-get-available-product-info.html
which may help you. There is also quite abit on Google if you search for Failed to get available product info.
Good luck.

Do you have any suggestions to help me narrow down what I should be looking for?You mean SysInternals' Process Explorer? Use Process Monitor instead. That will show you the file & registry access that the machine is requesting. Remember to filter out processes like IE, Explorer, your a/v EXE and so on so they don't clutter the view.
My guess would be that you have a missing config file or a missing entry in that file.

Sorry yes I mean Process Monitor.
I thought about some file missing or something corrupted but I deleted the set of install files and used a fresh copy that was downloaded from MS. One thing I have noticed is that this issue seem to be a little too common as I have seen many threads with the same issue but to solution.
I guess I will have to free up some time so I can take a better look at the log again. Once thing I did forget was to filter out the obvious, thanks for the reminder.
