reboot windows installer

i am trying to reinstall the software and the error message displays (the application has a pending system reboot. please reboot and restart the installer) how can i restarting the installer??

Have a look at the standard Windows Installer ForceReboot action: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa368607(VS.85).aspx

Could it be that you just have PendingFileRenameOperations on the system, and the installer tells you to get rid of these and then start the uninstall again (I.e. restart the installer)?

Just a hunch...

HI, HOPE YOU ALL FINE.Can anyone detail how post installation tasks are run? Are they basicallly runonce keys set into the registry? Are they scheduled tasks? Else?

How PI tasks are run surely depends on what the task is and when it needs to run. The RunOnce key is only read at boot-time, for example.

BTW, it's considered bad form in most fora to hijack threads in this way.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
