Repackage Hyperion Reports v701

I am using Wise Package studio version 5.1. I am trying to package Hyperion Reports Vision 7.0.1.

I first called the vendor to ask if they had a supported unattended install method. They said no, but they have helped some clients use Install shield to build a MSI.

I have tried to capture the installation with Wise on three different workstations. I have tried to use a WSI package and directly to an MSI. In all cases nothing will capture. I opened the Windows Install Editor after and it opens an empty MSI.

1. Has anyone had any experience with Hyperion Reports?
2. Is there a way to make these files capture?

Thank you!!!

Thank you!!!

I suggest you capture with the Smart Monitor and also run the application after application installation before your End Installation Capture.

Thank you for your reply!

I tried to capture the Hyperion Reports package with smart monitor on. The capture does not complete. I let it go over night and then again over the weekend. I have seen this before with large packages, but it usually finishes. The last time I saw this the package had a lot of INI files. From what I can tell this application has under 10.

I am opening the application after installation. The full procedure that I am using is this.

Clean a Machine, Log in with a client that has admin rights, Install Wise, Reboot machine. Log in again (Admin Rights) Do before capture, Install application, Open application and make setting modifications, Close application. Reboot (I have tried not rebooting also) login admin rights, and then finissh the capture.

Normally I save packages to the network, but in this case I have also tried to save to the local machine.

Any other options would be great. Thank you! Stuart
