Repackage ISeries 7.1
Good Morning,
I am new to the forum and to repackaging.
I am part of a team that is working on trying to repackage Iseries7.1. We are using Wise Packaging Studio and we are still having problems.
I personally have tried creating an automatic response file using the command line setup but it never creates the .ISS or .LOG files.
Please if anyone has any information or guidance it would be greatly appreciate it.

Well, you're either re-packaging or you're creating a response file with which to use against the vendor's set-up executable. The latter is not re-packaging.
Knowing IBM software of old, I would a) strongly recommend the former and b) suggest that, in all likelihood, little will have changed since the last release and therefore the information in the 'Package KB' here on AppDeploy will serve you well.
First, though, know that IBM has toyed with MSI in the past (their stab at an MSI for iSeries 5 was a gem, featuring as it did, several major parts being absent!) so you should check that, when you see the first 'Welcome' dialog, it hasn't extracted an MSI in %TEMP% or somewhere beneath %AppData%, a popular target these days.
