repackaging pervasiveSQL 8.7

hi,

I'm trying to repack pervasiveSQL 8.7 but i am having difficulties:

after capturing the (.exe 32-bit installer) with FlexNet Adminstudio and creating the .MSI installer, the program does install itself, but the service it is trying to start gives an error. I've located the service after installation and tried manual opening it. It runs as an tray-icon (SQL service), but it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
I've tried adding the sqlservice.exe tot the Windows services manually, but it's no use.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to capture this installer or (better yet) has already succesfully recaptured this package?

thanks in advance

It's already an MSI so no need for repackage!

Read the "Package Knowledge Base" again.
Run the installation (setup.exe or whatever name it has) and take a look in temp folder (%temp%).
If the exe setup is a wrapper it will extract the msi and related files that you could use instead.

no - i've looked at that as well, but it only extracts temp files - no MSI..!

Maybe your version isn't an MSI.
As a last verification, during execution of the exe does the msiexec process start?

no - only the setup.exe starts... !
