Response file(.iss) is not created

Hi,
I have Basic MSI Project developed in Insdtallshield 2009.While
i installing setup.exe using comamnd line in record mode (Setup.exe /r) is not creating
response file in default path (%windir%)..

Can you please advise what may be the issue which preventing the
response file(.iss) being created..

I assume you checked that the setup.exe does not already extract an MSI to the %TEMP% or %APPDATA% folder of the installing user?

I'm confused...

Are you using IS to create an MSI from a legacy installer? If so, why do you need to record a response file? If, however, you're trying to create a wrapper for the installer, record your response file first. Then add the set-up stub and response file to the your MSI then execute the relevant command line.

However, I wouldn't recommend the latter (wrapping) since you do not know what the installer is going to do to your workstations.
