Script the sideloading of a Edge browser extension

We block access to the Microsoft Store on our Windows 10 machines.  So far, I've been able to download the few Appx packages I need, and then sideload them into Windows.  Now I need to do the same thing with an extension for the Edge browser.

Specifically, I'm trying to install the LastPass extension for Edge.  I've manually configured my browser allow sideloading extensions and, manually installed LastPass via the Appx file I downloaded.  That did not work.  I still have no extension.

Anyone know if this is possible?  If so, how?

  • We have the same setup here for the Windows Store. I would also be interested on how to do this. - Cldstrife 7 years ago
  • Same problem here I can sideload the app but it won't activate in Edge. What I can do is to manually load the extension in Edge but I could not find a way to this via powershell or cmd or something else. - Tekkion 4 years ago
