Sequence question

Hi there,

We use Group Policy to advertise software to our users so that software will only be installed when clicked on shortcut or filetype. In MSI there are three types of sequences: installation, advertisement and administration. My question is how MSI handles the installation when a package is advertised ... I know it runs the advertisement sequence first but does it run installation afterwards when a shortcut is clicked? Im just curious because I'm editing an existing ACDsee 6.0 package wich uses a custom action dll to write some sort of licensing setting somewhere ( not in registry ) wich i cant find. When I install my package by doubleclicking with user interface it installs nicely but when I first advertise it and then install it gives me an licensing error.

Besides that I tried the logging feature for this but because of the advertising commandline it only logs that part. Defintive installation is not being recorded ... or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis
