setup.iss issue
Hi,
I need to create a removal ISS file from scratch because the one generated by the setup.exe file is not working. Since I am not the builder of the original package, I don't know the name of certain dialog boxes in the installation. These names are required to author the ISS file.
The first box in the installation allow to choose a language for the uninstallation and it doesn's seem to be a standard dialog box.
Is there a tool somewhere that could scan and provide the name of the dialog box that I need to use in my ISS.
Thanks
JM

If this is a legacy installshield/installscript installer (non-MSI based) I have had many problems getting this to work myself. The recording of the installer silent file works fine but the removal aspect can be troublesome unless there is an uninst.exe file somewhere which many of these installers come equipped with but many do not and even if they do many cannot be silently run..
I have had the most success just repackaging this type of installer into MSI format using the snapshot method. If you can do that you will almsot never have any issues installing or removing it in MSI format.
Good luck.
