Silent install of *.exe

Hello i have a exe that runs an installer (4 clicks of next) before the program is installed. I would like to create a silent install . How do i identify what it is? Is there a program i can use to pull it apart ? IE are there different types of installers? and what switches do i use to make it run silently. Any help would be much appreciated

Open a command box and cd to the folder where the setup.exe resides.
Try to run the setup.exe with a /? switch. You could also try /help -help or something like this.
When the setup.exe supports any switches they should be showed now.

Some vendors will include a readme, help or some kind of documentation for their install. Try google'ing the name of the application and version plus combinations of silent install, automated install, quiet install, custom install, etc...

Something like this:
appname 10 silent install

You can also do a direct search of a vendors site with google like this:
site: www.microsoft.com visio 2010 silent install
100x better than using the bing search engine built in to the MS web site.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
