Software missing from inventory list

Hopefully haven't missed someone else asking this question, but I've noticed recently that many different devices will have software not showing up in their inventory. Doesn't seem to be a specific software, but just random machines missing random software.

Could this be a bug?

What version of the SMA?

Where are you looking?  Inventory-> Software, Inventory->Software Catalog, or Machine Details...

Have you reviewed the inventory.xml file on the device in question?  ( Inventory-> Software)

Have you reviewed the InventoryData.Software.  (Inventory->Software Catalog)

Both files are located in \ProgramData\Quest\KACE

Server version: 12.0.149

Agent 12.0.38

I'm looking under the machine details in the list of 'Installed Software' and notice it missing some info. When reviewing the inventory.xml file, it doesn't show that its listed in there as well.

How about \ProgramData\Quest\KACE\InventoryData.Software?

The inventory.xml will report programs found in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

So it may be missing in the Windows registry or does not exist in the WMI installed programs list.

Interesting, it must be a windows issue then because after running " Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product " in powershell the software in question is not listed in there.
