SPSS 16 Per User Install

I am trying to get SPSS 16 deployed as a per user install via active directory. As the application doesn't seem to support advertised shortcuts so I ‘m having to deploy it as an "Assigned" application that’s installed at login. This is returning the error "1: ALLUSERS property is not 1 -this MSM cannot be used for a per-user or fallback-to-per-user install". I have made sure my MST has this property set correctly.
Has anyone managed to get spss to install in this manner or even managed to advertises the shortcuts.

Thanks, David

It's not your MST itself that's the problem, but a merge module in the MSI or MST, almost certainly one of the MS Visual C++ runtime MMs.

It's these which whine about being installed per-user. At my current client, I gave up arguing about this and simply had apps which use MMs exhibiting this behaviour added to an exception list (all apps are meant to be installed per-user here). You could *try* rebuilding the MM into a per-user friendly form but, TBH, given the grief involved in that exercise, my view is that life's too short.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
