Summation LG Gold 2.5.2
I have a question on Summation LG Gold 2.5.2. It comes with an MSI to which I can apply a transform and make customizations. So far so good. Good quality package for the most part. It installs and does custom actions without problems.
However, it insists on running from the program share on the network; that is, you have to run it from the root of the Summation Application directory (on the network, this is a network version).
We have separate shares for the package file repositories, and I would like to get it to run from there, but point to the network program directory when it comes time to register DLLs and applying registry to the local machine. I tried playing around with properties like SourceDir, INSTALLDIR, SERVER_LOCATION. However, it still wants to run from the root of the program share, and point the local machine to the directory where the MSI ran.
Has anyone encountered a situation where an MSI was dependent on other files being in the same location? is there a way I can set something that will tell the MSI "run from here, but all of the program files and registry entries are at <\\servername\share> so do all the DLL registration on the files in <\\servername\share>." ?
Thanks in Advance,
Owen
