System error 1058 - While trying to start Service
Hello,
Can anyone give me any hints on this?
I packaged WinRunner 8.0. Package installs "paldrv" service which tries to start automatically. This gave me problem as the service would not start during the install. So I removed the service from "Services" section in the WISE, but just dropped the reg keys.
So I have now just the following reg keys for this service.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\paldrv.
This will install the package without any errors, but when I reboot the server (Win2003), I get the below error:
"System error 1058 has occurred.
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
For some reason, I don't see this service in the Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Services.
Any idea how to fix this? I do have the right file (C:\Windows\System32\pal_Drv.sys), and registry looks like ok.
Thanks for any help.
