1. What does the installation log tell you? You do log your installations, don't you?

2. What does this post have to do with the tags listed below?
Scripting
Systems Management
Supporting Windows
Miscellaneous
Best Practices (a cracker, this one!)
Virtualization
Server Management
Networking
InstallShield <build_number>
DLL Hell

  • Could you please tell to what exactly this issue related to so that I will keep only that particular tag next time onwards.

In my opinion, this isuue might be related to OS so selected "Supporting Windows"
This issue is only coming in Server Operating SYstems, so selected "Server Management" and similarly "Systems MAnagement."The issue is with dll custom action. There is no tag specific to it and I don't have access to create a new tag on dll so selected "dll hell".And might be the code issue in dll also so selected "Scripting" and Best practices.

And sorry for selecting other tags.

And coming to the question. That is a dll custom action. So can't see the code of it.And can't comment it also as we don't know what it is doing exactly. - ur00361883 8 years ago

Do you have a log file??
Also from the dialog box, it can be seen that custom action is executed. You can also open the msi and check what exactly the custom action is trying to access..
