Transforms, Patches and Shortcuts! help!
Hi all,
Here's my dilema. I've been given the task of creating a patch for an application. The patch consists of adding two new files to the package, as well as altering a shortcut on the startmenu. And i should add that i am using installshield admin studio 5.5.
Patches are fine and dandy, no problems there. but it gets worse.
The application i have to patch, consists of a vendor's .msi and a transform that from what i can see, contains the shortcut that i need to update.
I have been successful in altering the transform so that any new users will have the updated version.
Where i run into issues is creating the patch. Neither creating a quick patch project, nor using the patch design function in installshield will give me the option to include transforms as the source for the patch.
Does anyone know a way that i can create a patch using both an .msi and the contents of a .mst? Thanks for your help.
