Unable to PXE Boot Surface Laptop 7 into KACE SDA Environment

We are trying to PXE boot a Surface Laptop 7 using a Microsoft Surface Dock but the PXE boot flashes on the screen then disappears. We are able to PXE boot all the other Microsoft Surface Laptops and Surface Pros in our environment using both the Microsoft Surface Dock 1 and Surface Dock 2 but this is the first Surface Laptop 7.

  • I can use a KACE SDA Bootable USB to get into the environment but I am starting to run into a bunch of issues with the ipxe stuck at initalizing message and it does not continue. When you saw PXE specific, what things would you check to try to resolve it? It appears set correctly in DHCP. - AlstonM 2 weeks ago

Hello,

Perhaps verify that the BIOS is set to secure boot disabled - and I have at times observed that the Fast Boot being enabled can cause issues when attempting to boot to PXE. Could further look to see if its something about the PXE boot specific by creating a USB Boot Key and the use that to see if the system will boot / deploy image successfully. If that works, then its something about PXE specific.
