Upgrading Symantec Endpoint Protection

I am quite new to SEP and automated installs in general. I am trying to upgrade from 11.0.4000.2295 to 11.0.6005.562. I am using KBox to deploy the setup.exe (AV and anti-spyware only) exported from SEPM. As of now, I am deploying off-hours, but would like to create a silent install to allow me to expand my deployment window (it is currently 17:00-07:00).
I saw somewhere on this site (new to the site too) how to do a silent install. But I am wondering how that handles SEP's requirement that programs be closed beforehand?
