Vista Compliance Testing
Dear Friends,
I was just told to do some research on Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit being reason that we need to run a Vista Compliance testing against a vendor setup. It's just like a tool which reports on what need to be fixed in order to run fine on Vista.
My take on ACT is that it is widely used for migration, where we sent Data Collection Packages (DCP) to random clients and they report back the application compatibility issues to the server. I feel that there is a tool out there that can just achieve my goal, by doing the following:-
1)Scan the setup, be it and exe or MSI and then report the incompatibilities.
2)Pre-Snapshot<-Install App->Post Snapshot and report incompatibilities.
All I want is a tool which can help me to do a Vista Compliance test as a pre-packaging process as ACT is just a little messy. Now I'm aware of Admin Studios Conflict Solver and then there is MSI Readiness Analyzer from Script Logic but just in case anyone is aware of a better freeware out there, would appreciate if you can share it.
Thanks for ideas & recommendation.
