VMWare
Hello,
I'm trying to repackage VMWare. Since there is vendor MSI file I'm doing this with MST file (adding serial number etc.). Almost everything is fine except of three things:
1. During the installation window with CD-ROM Autorun feature pops up - how to get rid of that and disable Autorun by deafult (during the installation)?
2. Second window is about searching for old VMWare files - how to get rid of that one?
3. During the uninstallation apppears the question about serial number stored in registry? This number should be automatically removed during the installation.
Anybody?

I'm glad Wozik said it, because I was thinking exactly the same thing... VMWare is probably using CustomActions (which can be WiseScript, VBScript, etc) and/or calling custom dlls (which can do the same thing as seperate exes).
You may be able to simply REM out these CustomActions... finding them will be the difficult part.
An example of where there is/was true: on this site, for the Adobe Acrobat installs, the installation instructions indicate 3 custom actions which need to be deleted to avoid MST problems when installing Acrobat Pro of Std.

OK, sean_c_roberts, your solution almost works. I disabled custom action for checking if cdrom autorun is enabled. That works fine. I'll still have to find out how to force disabling this feature without unnecessary windows. The second thing that I have to change is to disable the window with question about serial number stored in registry which popups during the unistallation.
I'll let you know if I find the solution.
