What is the best practice for number of devices that a Managed Installation pushes out

Hi, we are pushing out a light-weight application.  We have a 10GB pipe from our Data Center out to each location. What is the recommended number of devices we can push out to based on our bandwidth? The app is 21.7MB.

With a file that size and the bandwidth, I don't think you need to worry about a limit. Managed Installs don't run all at once. They kick off after a device does an inventory. If the device check-ins are spread out throughout the day, you shouldn't have anything to worry about, at least with this particular install.

When you say "location," I assume you mean offices and not devices?

Ideally, in each location/remote office, you would have a replication share, so the endpoint retrieves the file from the share.  The load is taken off the appliance.

There is no hard number for this question as it depends on the environment.

No we do not. It is all coming from the appliance. I can look at setting something like that up later, but for now what would you recommend?

The Managed Install feature also has the ability to use an Alternate location, which could be a share.

Use a label to target particular devices at a location. Then once most devices have the sw installed, you can target additional devices.

How many total nodes do you have?
