Windows 10 Automatic Update

Dear all,

I see that Microsoft have now changed their windows 10 update option so that when Windows Updates runs, unless you are at the pc and choose no, Windows 10 will be upgraded on your pc.

Does this still apply if you are patching through KACE?

If yes, how can you stop this?

Kind regards

Simon

From what I got back from support, the KBOX patching won't push out the Windows 10 upgrade. As far as stopping it on the local machine, there are plenty of articles out there but I used never10 on my systems. It's by GRC.

After the reboot the prompt doesn't come up anymore.

If it has not already upgraded you:

You can stop the task gwx.exe in task manager and rename that file in c:\windows\system32\gwx to stop it from bugging you.  Do not delete or rename the directory, it will come back, they check that.  So far on non college machines I have at home and take care of for a non profit I have not seen any sign of it's return by doing this.
