Wise automated build
Folks,
Im comparing installshield and wise at the moment. Im well versed in Installshield but not so in Wise...
We have a need to automate our builds from project files nightly using team build server. Installshield I know have a standalone dll for build machines that you can call on their APIs to automate the build.
What does Wise offer?

There is an automation interface but I think your question would be answered more fully if posted in Altiris' forum.IIRC, there is a Knowledgebase article number with a link to the relevant documentation.
Remember that Altiris, like Acresso, has a few products in the 'Wise' stable so be sure to pick the correct product forum.

Hi cbragg,
Yes Wise does provided an automate interface either by the "WfWi.Document" object or API calls through DLL.
Have a look at "Wise Automation Reference" and "Wise Software Repository Automation" under the "Best Practices" section at http://www2.wise.com/sysadmin_resources_page.asp

G'Day Kim,
I tried the Automation links under Best Practices:
http://209.104.132.121/docs/Wise Automation Documentation.exe
http://209.104.132.121/docs/Wise Software Repository Automation Documentation.exe
Both appear to be broken. Is anyone else able to navigate to these documents?
Regards
Wayne

Now, you see, THIS type of behaviour is what winds me up with vendors, particularly ones with the resources available to them such as Altiris must have. How hard is it, exactly, to set up link redirection? Is anybody seriously telling me that they couldn't find a few Mb on a server somewhere to host this stuff while they do their re-arranging? How unprofessional do they want to appear? It defies belief, it really does...

New locations are as follow:
Wise Automation Reference
http://www2.wise.com/docs/Wise%20Automation%20Documentation.exe
Wise Software Repository Automation
http://www2.wise.com/docs/Wise%20Software%20Repository%20Automation%20Documentation.exe
The old links will be redirected in a near future.
