Wise Package Studio is End of Life
Seems that Symantec has discontinued their Wise Package Studio.
Somehow I was expecting this to happen ..sooner or later..
Goodbye Wise ...[:(]

Hmmm...odd that neither Symantec http://www.symantec.com/business/package-studio or Flexera http://www.flexerasoftware.com/company/newscenter/press-releases.htm seem to be saying much...

Joyous. Our sales rep, of course, kept assuring us that everything was fine and nothing was going to happen blah blah blah. I hate finding out about this stuff through a forum.
I just sent a note to Flexera concerning the 'new' software. Am I reading that's what it is? It looks like basically there's some version of their AdminStudio that will have WiseScript built in at some point? And on top of that, they're releasing a 'one last fling' service pack for the original Wise? At least that should buy us some time while we start migrating our 12+ years of packages to AdminStudio (sigh).

[/align] To continue providing you with world-class application packaging capabilities, we are excited to provide customers with industry-leading technology from Flexera Software™. AdminStudio for Symantec is a branded version of AdminStudio® from Flexera Software™. Symantec will offer three editions of AdminStudio for Symantec: Enterprise, Professional, and Standard. The three editions of AdminStudio for Symantec will include all of the functionality found in the traditional AdminStudio product plus functionality specifically developed for users of Altiris management suites and existing Wise Package Studio users. In addition, Symantec will also offer AdminStudio Virtualization Pack, an optional add-on that provides advanced packaging support for the application virtualization technologies from Microsoft (App-V), VMware (ThinApp) and Citrix (XenApp). Teitan, VBScab. Thanks for the info. It's a coincident but at the moment I'm dropped into a job using Flexera Adminstudio.
They had no problem with my WPS background.I was a little bit overwhelmed by the new big rich interface and new stuff,
but they use only a part of it, although I still like to use my old wise macro's (which should be rewritten in pure vbscript to
open an external msi) for a check...
