Wise Virtual OS Capture Method

I am having problems getting the Wise Virtual OS feature working. I have used the virtualos.exe file to supposedly create a .WOS file that I will be able to select when capturing an installation using the virtual os method.

I chose my server share point for the location of this file and it went through the motions of creating it. On the share point I now have a 1.92Gb file called virtualos with no file extension and when I browse to this area to select the file as my virtual os for the capture I cannot select it.

I have tried renaming the file to include the .WOS extension but it says the fils is not a valid .WOS file. The only way I can get this to work is to create the virtual os locally on the machine which isn't what I want to do.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am using Wise Package Studio 5.1 Professional (Evaluation) which may have something to do with it but it does say it is a full evaluation so I don't think this is the problem.

Many thanks

Your Virtual OS is corrupt I suspect.

Get a Clean machine and copy the virtualos.exe to it
Run virtualos.exe and select a temp folder to store it. C:\Temp will do.
After it completes you can copy it to your Sharepoint in a folder called Virtual OS. Wise looks in this folder first for VirtOS files.

Now load your capture machine and run SetupCapture and select Virtual OS.
Wise will load the VOS onto your system now and install the app to that folderset.

It should only do this once as it clears itself after each capture.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
