The Wireless Profile Manager is provided as a tool to work with Boingo's wireless hotspot service. It can be used to scan for access points, though, even if you are not a Boingo hotspot subscriber. It has a very user friendly interface that can be used with a variety of wireless network cards, and is very handy for Win2K and pre-sp2 XP users. LinkSys recommeded it to me during a support call.
It can be downloaded from www.boingo.com , and it is an .msi wrapped in an .exe. As is often the case with these types of setups, the .msi extracts out to: "C:\%system%\Documents and Settings\%current_username%\Local Settings\Temp"
The .msi creates a key at [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] which makes Boingo launch when Windows starts. You may want to consider creating an .mst to eliminate this key so the user has to explicitly launch Boingo and connect to WAPs.
