I've installed the AdressPLUS Client Version 11.3.1164 for for sql-database, but I explain here how to install the mdb-Version too.
All you need you find in the directory of your installed Version on Server %yourserver%\adressplus$\PLUS11\Client\....
In the directory ....\Versions\%yourversion% you can find the Adress PLUS.msi.
To install the msi-Package silent by using the silent-Switches you must set the commandline for the APSYSDIR. APSYDIR set in Client-Installation the
path for the System-Dir on Server.
Also I've set the INSTALLDIR for installing the Program Files under a destinated Path.
When you use the mdb-Version of AdressPLUS Client you must install the Package without Switch, but to install the SQL Client Version you must thet the following Transform --> :Tsql2.mst
For Example my MSI Command Line:
MsiExec /I "Adress PLUS.msi" TRANSFORMS=":Tsql2.mst" ALLUSERS="1" INSTALLDIR="C:\Programme\cobra\PLUS11SQL"
Here all known Command Lines:
TRANSFORMS= ":Tsql2.mst" SQL-Client-Installation
TRANSFORMS= ":TDskLink.mst" ????
ALLUSERS=1 Installation per machine
REBOOT=R no Reboot
NOAPSYS="" Erase the Property NOAPSYS. If it is not erased, then was no Winplus.sys in ProgramDir created. In Winplus.sys you will found the Reference to
the AdressPLUS System Path
APSYSDIR="%HERE%System\" set the SystmPath
INSTALLDIR="%INSTALLDIR%" set the local ProgramDir
Before you install this Package install following System Updates, without you can't run AdressPLUS:
...\Base\Component Update.msi --> you can install with /qn
...\Base\netfx.msi --> you can install with /qn
...\Base\MDAC\MDAC_TYP.EXE --> you can install with /Q
I hope I can help you and I'm sorry for my English.
Unfortunately this package is not an MSI and it does not have a silent switch. The only way of software distribution they planned for is a poor admin running around, logging in, starting setup and answering some questions.
Fortunately it is possible to work around this, as client setup.exe is only a wrapper. We have deployed the SQL-version of Adress Plus, if you are using the non-SQL-version there will be slight differences.
As a prerequisite you should do your server setup as per manual.
I have divided the client setup in three separate tasks.
Part 1 is the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. Download this from Microsoft or use the copy provided in Client\Base-directory of your server share.
Part 2 is the update of system components. Again necessary files are in the Client\Base-directory of your server share.
msiexec /i "path\Component Update.msi" REBOOT=ReallySuppress /QN
Part 3 is the installation of Adress Plus itself. You will find the MSI in the directory Client\Versions\11.x.yyyy\ of your server share. x.yyyy may vary depending on the release of your Adress Plus. Necessary modifications should be included in a transform file. Installation command then is
msiexec /i "path\Adress Plus.msi" TRANSFORMS="path\Adress Plus.mst" /qn
Just make sure that part 1 and 2 are completed before scheduling part 3 for installation on the client.
In the MST I have added a new component which copies the file Winplus.sys to %programfiles%\cobra\PLUS11Sql\Programm. Winplus.sys has the format of a standard INI-file and contains two lines only
pointing to the system-directory of your server share.
I have removed four entries from the shortcut table. We don't like Icons in the desktop folder of the "all users" profile, the active directory assistent is of no use if you distribute the file Winplus.sys. And we use Outlook as a calendar so we don't use this component either.
Added the following entries to the property table:
ALLUSERS = 1
NOAPSYS = 0
SQLType = 1
APSYSDIR = \\YourServer\YourShare\System _CST_NEW_DEFAULT_DESTINATION = INSTALLDIR
_CST_NEW_INSTALLDIR = [ProgramFilesFolder]cobra\PLUS11Sql
The last two entries are Admin Studios way of modifying the installation directory. I don't know wether they are necessary if you use a different tool for creation of the MST.
