This is for the branded version that comes with new Dell PCs.
Application consists of a setup.exe that installs multiple msi's Those inlcude:
Roxio DLA=Drive Letter Access, similar to Direct CD
Roxio Express Labeler
Roxio RecordNow Audio
Roxio RecordNow Copy
Roxio RecordNow Data
Roxio Update Manager
The msi's show up individually in Add/Remove Programs and have to be removed one by one to uninstall the application. The setup.exe supports the /s switch but does not appear to allow any custom options that that are available during the attended setup.
For custom installation it is easiest to copy the MSI's you want to your install point and install them individually.
You will need to also copy the appropriate transform (1033.mst for English) and the px.ini file. Installing the msi without the transform will result in a non functioning program.
To disable registration screen that comes up on first launch you will need to modify the transform or msi to remove the registry registration entries.
From the Component table delete the following components:
LeaderReg.*
LeaderRegEntries.*
From the FeatureComponents table delete the following features:
LeaderReg.*
LeaderRegEntries.*
From the Registry table delete the following registry entires that have the following key:
SOFTWARE\Sonic\Registration\*
This program wants to enable "Retrieve media information for CDs and DVDs from the Internet" in Windows Media Player on launch. To disable that screen add the following registry entry
The information I'm providing relates directly to the Dell version of Roxio Sonic Record Now 2.x.
Another suggestion for preventing registration form executing after the product installation is to modify the following registry key value from default of 0 to 2.
HKLM\Software\Sonic\Registration\SCMain\RunRegApp
