There is RecordNow that comes with IBM Thinkpads.
Usually I extract the following files from the rn<ver>.exe: (execute it and search for these files in some temp folder in Documents and Settings)
RNENU.msi
Data1.cab
px.ini
pconfig.dcf
and then run msiexec /q /i RNENU.msi
Sometimes MyCD.msi and HISTORY.BLD (from older versions) are required during installation when only updates are available. Put them in the same folder than the above mentioned files.
In RecordNow 7.23 there is a new registration dialog. Disable it by setting the following registry data:
Key: HKLM/SOFTWARE/Sonic/Registration/RecordNow
Value: RunRegApp(DWORD) = 0x00000002
The application Sonic- RecordNow! Plus is basically a CD-Writing software. The vendor supplied 3 MSI's and MST's. If you want to create new package for this application, you have to go for wrapped msi only.
Write 3 Custom Actions to Install all the 3 MSI's and MST's and 3 Custom Actions to Uninstall. Have to take care about the sequence of the Custom Actions based on the MSI's. While creating the New MSI faced the following errors.
1. Add/Remove programs icon is the new MSI's icon and size of the application.
2. User doesn't get the 'SendTo' shortcut
3. Self-healing doesn't support by the vendor supplied MSI's
