Under some circumstances I encountered the problem that the "NEXT" button on the Product Key dialog didn't work. To make a silent install, simply add those two properties to the command line or transform:

INSTALL_ADMIN = 1 (to install the Software Virtualization Admin Tool)

PRODUCT_KEY = nnnn-nnnn-nnnn-nnnn

Note

Altiris recommends to use the .exe based installation if there's already an older version of the Agent installed on the machine. That's the only way to do an upgrade (from at least build 2.0.1366 to the current build 2.0.1403). The .msi based installation forces one to first uninstall the older version and then install the newer version.

Command Line

If you only have the .msi file by the hand you can do the update using the following command line:

msiexec.exe /qb- /fvamus <PATH to Software_Virtualization_Agent.msi> PRODUCT_KEY=<nnnn-nnnn-nnnn-nnnn>

Note

With the new SVS 2.1 (Build 2.1.2069) there are a few more properties which can be useful:

INSTALL_CONTROL_PANEL_APPLET= 1 (installs the Control Panel Applet)
GLOBAL_EXCLUDE_MY_DOCUMENTS_OPTION= 1
GLOBAL_EXCLUDE_DESKTOP_OPTION = 1 (those two properties are defaults if you don't want to set the global exludes simply delete those through a transform)
