Using VNC Viewer in Linux:
Step 1
Open a terminal window. The terminal will be found under "Applications" and "Accessories (GNOME)" or "Start" and "Utilities (KDE)."
Step 2
Install vncviewer. sudo apt-get install vncviewer.
Step 3
Type the command: vncviewer hostname:number. The VNC server will start with a session number. You will need to know this number to connect to the server. For example: vncviewer linuxhost:1
Step 4
Enter the password for the vncserver.
This password will most likely be different than the password used to actually log into the system.
Step 5
Use the remote desktop. The VNC server will provide you with a graphical desktop that you can use as you would a local desktop.
