After upgrading the K1000 to version 6.2 I discovered an issue

Hi,

After the upgrade of our K1000 to version 6.2 I noticed a lot of errors in the application event logs on every machine relating to "ACUConfig". These appeared every two hours. I tracked down the ACUConfig executable to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Kace directory and it looks like when the machine checks in these events appear.

I logged a call with support and they said they had another person log a call with the same issue. They have passed this to engineering to have a look at.

You may want to see if this affects your machines as well and maybe log a call

  • I see it on my PC's too. Some are errors, some are warnings and some are informational. The new agent probably checks every PC regardless of if it has the Intel AMT tech or not. Thanks for the info! - h2opolo25 10 years ago

    This seems to relate to physical boxes, what about VMware virtual servers that do not have Intel vPro processors, do we just have to put up with constant event log errors every 2 hours ? - KiwiJJ 9 years ago
  • I've had the same complaint and it looks like this won't be fixed anytime soon now. I developed a work-around to this problem that tackles it fairly well. Basically using a GPO I change the security on that acuconfig.exe file so that it can't be executed. I have a detailed walkthrough on my website:
